/ Launch of PALWASHA, Afghanistan's first international quality TV series

Aina Video department produced the first international quality TV series in Afghanistan called 'Palwasha - Rays of the Rising Sun', the project having been directed by Mr. Prasant Satapathy (Aina's Video Director). Aina organized the world premier screening on November 16, 2007 in Kabul. The launch was a great success and was attended by more that 150 representatives from the UN, various INGOs, Private Enterprise, Media Agencies, and Afghan Film companies. Palwasha is currently being broadcast on Arian Television station in Afghanistan, as well as being simultaneously boraodacst in the Unit

To create Palwasha:

More than 250 Afghan actors and actresses worked together with an Indian production team. In the process of creating the series, the production team assimilated young Afghan up and coming talents and trained them within their respective technical fields.

To complete the fisrt series it took the crew aproximately 100 days of filming, working 14-16 hour days.

150 different locations and sets were used across Afghanistan.

More than 500 costumes were designed for the series.

All of the post-production was done at the Aina Studio, Kabul. This includes music composition, sound effects, special effects, graphics and editing.

20 episodes were produced in total, each episode being 30 minutes long.
